Term 2
Topics covered in Term two computer science:
- All students in grade 8 participate in the The Lt. Governor's Computing Challenge, a statewide coding competition for Connecticut students.
Students final project in Term 2 is to build a website that focuses on solving a problem in a particular community. They will be working on the following as the term progresses:
- Link to an external style sheet.
- Use CSS selectors to style HTML text elements.
- Add an image to a web page.
- Follow copyright law, accurately attributing others when using their work.
- Create a CSS rule-set for the body element that impacts all elements on the page.
- Use CSS properties to change the size, position, and borders of elements.
- Group elements using classes in order to create more specific styles on their website.
- Adding Videos and sound to websites
- Use HTML to link between web pages to create a multipage website.
- Create a digital artifact
