8th Grade Science

Welcome to 8th grade science! I am really excited to begin the new school year and jump into science for the 2023-2024 school year.

This year we will focus on various topics and engage in hands-on lab activities that will help us better understand science and make real world connections. Topics to be covered throughout this school year:
-Measuring Matter
-Energy
-Force and Motion
-Magnetic Fields
-Thermal Energy
-Phase Changes
-Chemical Reactions

8th grade science started with reviewing and reinforcing basic science skills as we dived into measuring matter and built upon the scientific method. Afterwards, we explored energy and discovered the two main types of energy. Currently, we are beginning to explore forces and motion. We are starting this new unit with a hands on exploration to find out how to develop a device to keep an egg safe as it slowly descends to the ground.
