Welcome to 5th grade in room 406!
My name is Miss O’Connor, and I will be teaching 5th grade Math and Science. I am very excited to have a great year full of learning and fun! This will be my second year teaching at Park City Prep. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Saint Joseph where I played softball, was the Treasurer of the Student Government Association, and more. I was inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi education honor society in 2021. My love for teaching is unmatched, and I will be a great advocate for all of my students. I am thrilled to start the 2023-2024 school year and to meet you all and embark on this new journey together!
Term 2
In Term 2, students will learn the following topics:
Math:
- Fractions- Adding Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing
- Measurement and Data
- Geometry
- Algebraic Thinking
Science:
- Modelling Matter
- Earth Systems
- Ecosystem Restoration
Students will be using many different resources over the course of Term 2, such as:
- i-Ready Math (45 minutes per week)
- Xtra Math (2 sessions per week)
- Legends of Learning
- Big Ideas online
- Achieve 3000 (every other week)
Signing in to Parent Portal Accesss (for the first time):
- Go to https://www.parkcityprep.org/
- On the homescreen, click on the word PARENTS at the top of the screen
- From the parent drop down menu select Parent portal
- Do not fill out user ID and password boxes, click can't remember password
- On the new screen it will ask for a username; enter the the EMAIL ADDRESS you want to use as your user name
- An email will be sent to you giving a temporary password and a link to click on that will help you set us your account.
