A Bit About Mr. Jackson!

Thank you for visiting! My name is Mr. Jackson and I recently joined Park City Prep Charter School as a teaching intern from Sacred Heart University where I am in the closing stages of finalizing my MAT, Secondary English & Language Arts!

I grew up in nearby Fairfield for all of my K-12 experience. After graduation, I went to work and returned to school in my mid-twenties at Housatonic Community where I completed my A.A, Fine Art. I then finished my BFA, summa cum laude in Creative Writing at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH with a focus on non-fiction writing with a double major in Political Science. To follow my dream of becoming a teacher, I enrolled at the Isabelle Farrington College of Education at Sacred Heart University in their graduate program.

Thanks to my mom, I read early and often and I believe in the transformative power of words. To share that knowledge with young people is an amazing feeling and I am incredibly excited and honored to be here.

To my students, I leave you with a quotation from my favorite book, El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quixote de La Mancha -- Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra:

"When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness, To surrender dreams - this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness - and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!"

If I can be of any assistance at all, please don't hesitate to reach out to me, bjackson@parkcityprep.org and I'll do my best to assist!
