The Grade 6 trip to Nature's Classroom is from Monday, December 2nd through Wednesday, December 4th.

Ms. Johnson's 7th Grade ELA Class

This year in 7th Grade ELA we will focus on four different areas of instruction. 
 
1st- Narrative/ Literary Text: Students will learn about the different elements of a story and how those elements work together. Students will then take their knowledge of those elements and apply them to writing their own narratives in class. 
 
2nd- Biography/ Informational Text: Students will lean about valid and reliable resources. They will learn about how to locate and comprehend informational pieces of writing. Towards the end of the unit students will pick a person of study and write a biography on that person. 
 
 
3rd- Argumentative/ Literary Text: Students will learn about how people present different sides of an argument. They will be able to compare the two different sides and provide evidence to support each. During this unit students will also be writing an argumentative essay. 
 
 
4th- High School Essays/ Informational Text: Students will continue to learn about informational text and how to manage larger pieces of informational writing. It is during this unit that students will begin to start work on their high school essays.
